WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Sea Bears of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) have released the team’s 2024 schedule. The club is slated to start the season on the road before returning to Canada Life Centre for their home opener on May 24th.
The 20-game set will give Winnipeg fans their first looks at defending champions Scarborough, as well as Ottawa, two teams that didn’t visit the heart of the country last season.
It also features four match-ups each against western conference rivals Saskatchewan and Vancouver. Winnipeg completed the four-game sweep of the Vancouver Bandits in their inaugural season and went 2-1 against the Saskatchewan Rattlers in an intense series that saw the league’s two top scorers go toe-to-toe.
The Sea Bears will continue to make their home at Canada Life Centre, where fans can expect the same high-energy atmosphere that made the 2023 season so special. Fans can also look forward to themed games, which will be announced at a later date.
Sea Bears Nation will get their last chance to take in a regular season home game July 23 when the team hosts the Calgary Surge at Canada Life Centre. Winnipeg then completes the double-header in Calgary before wrapping up the regular season in Edmonton on July 29.
The postseason will begin in August with the third and fourth-ranked teams in each conference squaring off in a play-in game. The winners will advance to face the conferences’ second seeds in the quarterfinals. Quarterfinal victors, the Championship Weekend host (Montreal) and the first seed in the west all earn a spot at Championship Weekend, which is comprised of the semifinals and Championship game and runs August 9-11.
Season tickets and flex packs for this summer are available now. Single game tickets will go on sale in April.
